clockwork71 replied Oct 12, 2007I am the same kind of trader, (Techie) but I think that it is important to keep these things in mind. As far as NFP, or other announcements like these, I don't necessarily trade them. Unless, of course, there is an obvious point to get in. Today, I ...

Fibonacci GONE WILD

clockwork71 replied Oct 6, 2007AMEN. We are all trying to "Trade to live", NOT "LIVE TO TRADE". It is for this exact reason that I do not care about random spikes on server A vs. B. I am not putting Wizard down at all, it's just I prefer longer time frames, to avoid stop hunting, ...
How to profit from your broker

clockwork71 replied Oct 6, 2007I had a Scottrade account for a few years. Nothing overly exciting, but if you are a long-term investor, I think they would do well for you. (I believe the transaction fee is $7/trade, maybe?) Either way - I never had bad experiences with them.....

clockwork71 replied Oct 3, 2007Plus, I would like to add two very important words: Canadian Shale. Shale becomes profitable at roughly $70/barrel. Canada had a ridiculously huge deposit. OPEC knows this. (There are estimates that western Canada is roughly as saturated as the ...

clockwork71 replied Oct 3, 2007I agree with this post. And all the others as well. When you are ready, try EUR/CHF. Also, demo it first. It has it's own feel, like 90 year-olds running a marathon. Clockwork
Currency Pair For The Newbie
-
clockwork71 replied Oct 3, 2007David - What you say makes sense, and yes....I would agree typically. Except GBP/JPY scares the hell out of a lot of traders, and especially new traders. And the part about a broker offering micro-lots, it's a must. (You cannot practice true money ...

clockwork71 replied Oct 3, 2007True, but the point of those two correlated pairs is that it's more ANTI-DOLLAR recently. Ok, fine......NZD/USD? Or if you want a real education, you could try something fun like ISL/USD

clockwork71 replied Oct 2, 2007I would submit that 1,2,or even 3 are fine. However, I would make sure they aren't connected. This way, you can see how different pairs act. For example, if you were doing EUR/USD and USD/CHF, they move in opposite directions about 99.99% of the ...

clockwork71 replied Sep 25, 2007Omsai - I highly recommend the James16 stuff. I was having problems before I found it. Also, he shows how to define support and resistance. S/R lines and formations in themselves can be deadly accurate at times. Read through that thread, you will ...

clockwork71 replied Sep 25, 2007I would recommend "The adventures of a currency trader" by Rob Booker. It's an easy read, and it has more of a "moral lesson" to it. I flew through it twice, I really loved it. As far as Technical Analysis is concerned, I defer to Peter, as my ...
