Excellent point. image Not many will understand. Such understanding comes from long interaction with the market and a real dedication to understanding the hidden dynamics of this game. People will call you negative and unproductive for not trying ...

... What? First of all it's Marv (short for Marven), not Mary.
Second, I don't work for IBFX, lol. (I just bashed their spreads) No WONDER customer service are treating you that way...how good is interbankfx

I'm going in with 50% of my account, with SL on this thread producing a profitable system, and TP on the opposite.
These threads are nice in concept but they don't work. Ok, let's say you somehow manage to build this highly profitable system with ...Ok, Lets do it - Developing a Highly Profitable System

Their spreads suck indeed. They're charging you more than they should, that should tell you enough about a broker. Leave IBFX, there are better deals out there. What's wrong with Oanda?
You can trade as little as $0.01 per pip, their spreads are ...who is really using interbankfx here?

Any proof to back this up?
Metatrader is just a platform. It's not "Metatrader's" fault that you and most newbies lose in this market. Thanks for dropping by. IBFX is okay, but I'm not trading there because of the spreads (which matter in ...how good is interbankfx

Don't ask don't tell. But according to this poll so far, 16% of FF members are millionaires. Way to go bitches.

Yeah it's a great combination; though I do know some IB stocks/futures traders who don't use NT. Honestly though, I don't believe the type of platform should have any major effect on a trader's profitability. I believe a profitable discretionary ...

- Marv replied Dec 7, 2010
I'd say max 10 lots, something like that. There ARE people with large accounts trading with Oanda who have no complaints, but Oanda is no ECN and if my orders are that large, I personally would prefer that they are anonymously passed to multiple ...

That's actually not a bad idea. If you can do well at Forex, you should definitely consider futures at some point. The E-mini markets are a good place to get started.

CMS isn't good, nor is Gain Capital (owner of forex.com). My recommendation is: 1) If your capital is small to medium sized, check out Oanda. 2) If your capital allows you to trade with an ECN, check out some of the more reputable ECNs out there ...

Just don't trade with them, and tell your friends not to trade with them. That'll do. There are many such brokers out there who simply aren't honest nor safe (Russian bucketshops are an example). No serious trader should even consider those. Period. ...

Not sure about that "or". An ECN is a type of broker, not a software/platform. Most ECN's (such as IB or MBT) offer different platforms, proprietary or independent, the latter are often paid. Your execution depends on your broker and its liquidity ...
What is a 'large' position?
- Marv replied Dec 5, 2010
To bring this more on topic, I'd say that a "large position" is relative to market volume. A 100 lot position may be "large" under certain market volume, but not so large under higher market volume. And since you can't know the exact volume in ...

I never said "necessarily", I said "more likely". I tend to think only in probabilities when it comes to market activity. I think you're missing my point.

Higher volatility is the result of higher imbalances between buying volume vs. selling volume. Such imbalances are more likely to be stronger (thus having a stronger influence on price movement) the more overall volume there is in the market. ...
What is a 'large' position?
- Marv replied Dec 4, 2010
Simply put, high volume does not necessarily mean high volatility, it just makes it more likely. Volume, volatility and liquidity are related, but not the same thing. Jhig was probably just addressing what they have in common (i.e. relative ...

No. Not really. There are still orders much bigger than $100/pip taking place in the market between banks/hedge funds. With between $1 and $100/pip you are still not a big player. Just trade with a reputable ECN. If your account is big enough, trade ...

That is what the majority believes. Try not to rely too much on that information/mindset, and try to switch to the following information/mindset: "Price", let's cross that and replace it with "Price movement". Let's focus more on movement not the ...
