Sorry for delay I've been out of town. The renko bars have an option to show wicks or not. But this is a guess since I don't see a screen shot of your charts to compare.

Another 1percent gain @ typical late morning retrace when trades are closing out. Total today 2.5 %

I can envision this trade on the renko system. News backed up the sell position, I'm sure it would have triggered a buy position. I wouldn't have taken the buy position.
