I can't comment on the platform as I rarely have it open, it's really just a backup account, though I do use it for the occasional kiwi trades (IB has a daily 2-hour NZD blackout). I have however been pulling the quote feed 24/5 for over a year and ...

Major trendlines were broken on the DXY, EUR/USD, oil, aussie, kiwi, etc; 7-month resistance on USD/JPY shattered today (and USD/CAD yesterday). The Fed also came out and essentially stated that all potential '08 rate hikes are now off the table, ...

Intraday margins were raised to overnight levels on a host of products due to the recent volatility. They'll probably shift back at some point.

Pretty limited details here.. As has been stated, IdealPro minimum order sizes equates to $2.50/pip, you're 100x off. Anything over $25k can't even be forced onto Ideal, it's impossible to direct $2.5M there. "Orders submitted for more than the ...

It's not a guarantee, but I've been filled without paying the spread several times at IB. On rare occasions, I've been filled below my bid limit or above my ask limit, though that typically occurred when price did indeed trade through. 9 times out ...

Ah it was there in front me the whole time. Not a beginner by any means, just never saw it done in MT4 before. Many thanks!

No, left them several months ago. I kept calling them out on HS FXi not being integrated, they couldn't prove otherwise at the time. If they're integrating a 0.1-pip increment network and still quoting in 0.5-pip increments, who are they trying to ...

jupiter_peak, Silly question - how are you drawing TLs and horizontal lines in MT4 with fixed end points? I didn't see that option anywhere, the default lines are infinite in length.

Depending on initial account size, my recs would be: $400 - $10K = MBT $10k - $100k = IB or HS FXr* >$100k = IB or HS FXi *IB offers lower commissions, more pairs, and many more features than HS FXr, however HS FXr's interface may be better suited ...
Market Makers & ECN’s, Is the grass greener?
- Trader KGB replied Jul 20, 2008
Given those requirements, you should really consider the CME FX futures. They offer pretty much the best leverage/commission possible with ECN-equivalent spreads (not sub-pip, but basically 1-pip flat). Based upon the last time I ran the calcs, the ...

I'm not passing judgment, merely posting what their website claims. From the experience I had with demo, I could certainly understand their desire to lower the thresholds. They have already shown a tendency to bend the rules since the ECP ...

I know the author was speaking from a macro standpoint, but it is funny nonetheless that Aussie is the standout currency this Sunday up half a percent. Fighting this trend is a dangerous bet. Most agree that a flirt with parity is likely to happen. ...

Agree on lower clearing fees, disagree on spreads, keep those equal for all clients. IB does this the smart way. $10/M for everything >2 yards a month, as well as tiered swap rates.

This could certainly be the case, that banks would prefer not to be associated by name with the dealing desks/bucket shops of the world. Real brokers have no qualms disclosing their partner banks.

That's unfortunate, they were the only notional-based commission retail ECN, and it was certainly a great rate for GBP pairs. In any event, $30/M is still much better than $50/M.
