traider replied Dec 31, 2011This much I will say to superdezign. If he cannot ascertain the markets objectives from a 5 minute chart which I consider an ideal venue, he has a long way to go. However, once he gets there, it will all become clear so keep asking these questions ...
Price action is dumb, and you're lazy for thinking otherwise

traider commented Dec 27, 2011This is less about emotion and more about seeing the connections. Without the big spending West, China would be a useless investment destination. The West's unique role as a big spending working class is a legacy of the Cold War. Rogers had better ...

traider commented Dec 27, 2011Is this guy for real. He invests in the very country that is central to the debt juggernaut that is driving what (illusory) growth there is in the West and he complains about the debt! Without the massive Western spending behind the Chinese returns ...

traider commented Dec 27, 2011Hardly. The transition of poor agricultural Maoist China to manufacturing heartland of the world was engineered with Western capital, a nod from Mao who was largely a nationalist and of course Richard Nixon as the intermediary. The Security Council ...

traider commented Dec 26, 2011Given that the vast bulk of the planet's cash is heading to China, where is the incentive to change the status quo? China is an excellent investing vehicle, America an excellent consuming (returns) vehicle.

traider replied Dec 26, 2011It depends on which candles you are looking at bearing in mind that they simply encapsulate the flow of quotes...they don't do anything else. Most are misinterpreted....the few that are critical are hard to spot. That in a nutshell is price action.
Indicators CAN work!

traider replied Dec 26, 2011I don't mind whether the market is volatile or trending. Once one gets clear direction from the data, it tends to move. The low liquidity stuff tends to be all over the place however. There is the odd signal but I tend to use the choppiness as an ...

traider commented Dec 26, 2011The creation of the Euro zone simply sowed the seeds for the housing boom which essentially created a one dimensional growth devoid of much substance. Couple that with the legally empty sub-prime property title derivatives many of the world's banks ...

traider replied Dec 25, 2011It depends on whether your broker makes market data available on these days. However, assuming data is available, bank holidays will keep liquidity low and the data choppy and largely directionless for the early part of this week. I have only seen ...

traider replied Dec 21, 2011@fx This is a hard game but one that can be mastered with time and patience. I wish I could show you some of my method but its so complex and basically convoluted that I would be doing you a disservice. A lot of it is pure gut instinct. But hang in ...

traider commented Dec 21, 2011The banks require this funding as their balance sheets are chock full of bad paper from the sub-prime era. Its the only way they can appear liquid from year to year. Take away this funding (until they resolve the legality of the paper) and the ...

traider replied Dec 21, 2011I wondered about this. I had a very strong sell signal on the aussie before the news broke which had me scratching my head. It's why I tend to stick to the technicals. Having said that, it's an education in fundamentals visiting your thread.
