May be it happened in EU session when London was closed, so according to this method of backfill, whatever range that Asia/EU session trades in the London market must fill that range? Otherwise their is a gap?

I still dont understand, how can he make out that the price did not travel that range?? If you look at that hollow purple box, their is three 15 mins bar candles with their low and high piercing/travelling through that range.. two reds and one green ...
