jhathawa replied Jul 25, 2006I have worked out a system on the GBP for CCI's on MT4 and its working great on backtesting. Over 200% ($1000 to $3300) profit from 6/04 to 7/06 (with 88% accuracy from Alpari data). I need to forward test for awhile but it looks really ...
Any one using CCI System?

jhathawa replied Jul 16, 2006It takes 1-2 minutes for me I think to backtest 1/1/06 to today using every tick. My machine is pretty new though, 2.75GHZ.

jhathawa replied Jul 16, 2006I may be doing something wrong but with the standard settings (and Alpari data with every tick calculated) discussed on here the 18/42 EURO backtest results are not good. See attached. Since 1/1/06 to today I get a PF of 1.03 ($480 profit on ...

jhathawa replied Jul 16, 2006Yardi, I used 1.0 lots. Zarni, Yes, its a huge stop loss but I have downloaded the Alpari data to backtest on MT4 and no matter what time period I choose I get at least break even results (in EUR and JPY) and very good results with GBP and CHF. If ...

jhathawa replied Jul 16, 2006I backtested 25/250 on GBP from 1/1/06 to today and its basically break-even (you make $250 on 10k). 30/300 is up about 50% so there's quite a difference. I've found GBP and CHF to be the best candidates from backtests. I'm gonna demo 30/300 on GBP ...

jhathawa replied Jul 16, 2006I have heard most brokers who do not charge interest are usually "bucket shops" or tiny brokers in Africa, India, etc and you risk putting your $ in them. There are legit ones but if you don't make enough trades you'll probably have your account ...

jhathawa replied Jul 15, 2006The more volatile pairs with bigger ranges (GBP and CHF) seem to do the best with the 150 or 300 S/L and the wins are consistently more than 10 to 1 on all the timeframes I've tried. Just my observation on backtesting v1.1 so far.

jhathawa replied Jul 15, 2006small correction — Actually GBP turns out well also with 77W/4L from 1/1/06 - 7/13/06 turning 10k into 15.85k but EURO and JPY don't do much of anything. So it looks like GBP and CHF with the settings I have listed above work well.

jhathawa replied Jul 8, 2006ACM offers OCO and if/then but I think they only allow minimum 100k lots, not even 10k lots. They have the smallest spreads also that I've seen. But of course they don't meet all your requirements.

jhathawa replied Jul 7, 2006I'm sure you are right that the EURO will meander and probably reverse soon but I'm trying my hardest to stick to my system and hold until it tells me otherwise. Its an auto-trade system so it will do as it needs without me telling it too
