sergiel replied Mar 31, 2009Well usually just a red trend bar and a red HA candle without an upward shadow on the H4. Sometimes I'll go ahead anyway if there is a slight shadow in the wrong direction. How about you? Thanks

sergiel replied Mar 31, 2009Do you mean start looking for EU short soon? If so I already have open Short EU orders that I am hoping will work out for me. Once the H4 gives me a solid down trend signal will turn the EA back on. H4 new bar is red but may wait another half hour - ...

sergiel replied Mar 31, 2009Ya, I think Daily is just too delayed to give any meaningful information unless the currency is in a very long trend. This has gotten me thinking a little about ranging vs trending. It seems as though the GU & EU have been bouncing off the Fib ...

sergiel replied Mar 31, 2009EA and Ranging Market — It may be a bit too early to tell but seems as though the EU and GU seem to be in ranging mode right now which makes it very difficult to predict the direction of movement. I have a tough call to make, my GU & EU sell ...

sergiel replied Mar 30, 2009I believe that is only one of the conditions that must be met before it will open another position. The EA also must find a suitable entry position within a "40 pip safe zone". I am not sure exactly how this works but I suspect it means if the price ...

sergiel replied Mar 28, 2009Hey Namrettic, I just drove the Ea for each uptrend or downtrend on the backtest. It would just close all orders at the end of each period (change in trend). Eg March 11 - 25 set it to "long only" so it closes all open orders on March 25th. ...

sergiel replied Mar 28, 2009Hey Rising, I have always been using MA = 5 on the M5 Chart, and will continue running that test, but plan on trying Samurai's setting of MA = 15 on the M5 chart and see how it compares, driving both exactly the same way. How are you currenlty ...
