PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 8, 2008I just took a glimpse of the weekly AUD/USD. If the pair retraces to 0.90 or just above, and then corrects itself to prior lower lows (support 0.855) then we may have an obvious H&S pattern to contend with

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 8, 2008All we've seen is a bounce off prior support (0.867). 0.885 is the immediate testing material before I can even considering to be getting "jiggy" with it
Then there's several resistance ahead just prior to 0.90. And the fact that Gold has ...AUD/USD confirming trend change - heading higher

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 8, 2008Such is this market. In a calmer market, the AUD/USD would've challenged for a break above 0.90 by now after those favourable numbers. I'm watching the Yen, not just for AUD/USD strength.

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 5, 2008While the AUD does indeed take the lead from the global risk appetite for higher-yielding assets and the ASX does sympathises with Wall Street, the current slide in the Aussie may be a temporarily or limited trend. The uncertainty, followed by data ...

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 5, 2008While I do subscribe to the axiom of "if the USA sneezes, the world catches a cold", I think Australia has been gradually shifting to the sentiments of its Asian counterparts, particular China (the "golden goose"). Yes, the USA slowdown will have a ...

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 5, 2008If that support materializes, we could see a wedge pattern forming and a retest of previous resistance (though those double tops do look ominous). We could then see a break of that pattern formation - to the direction of the most overwhelming trend. ...

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 5, 2008That level may not hold if the Yen continues to enjoy another leg down. I'd prefer to watch the weekly trendline of the AJ on any offering of this receding decline. The previous support @ 93 seems like the appropriate magnet to draw the longs into ...

PiP sL@y3r replied Jan 5, 2008It seems to me like the weakness is due in part to the strength of the Yen in the last few sessions. The AUDUSD does look like a good potential upside trade for the coming months, though we may need to see the appetite for high-yielding commodity ...
