My impression about Crown FX is that they do not hedge customers positions. Since 95% of the traders lose money, this is a very lucrative business and that's why those (very good) conditions like very small spread or "no swap" can be offered.

That ECN thing is highly overestimated in my opinion. At the end of the day, it does not matter if you trade at an ecn or at a market maker. You will always get your money from the broker if you win, and you will alway loose your money if you loose, ...
