True, I almost went that exact route last year, until I saw the live FXi feed and was rather unimpressed. I wonder how that side of the business is doing ever since Lehman folded.

IB charges $2 per $100k, but their minimum lot size is 25k. That's the cheapest rate amongst the 3 retail ECNs (IB, MBT, FXCM/HotSpot). Well there are only 3 retail ECNs, so that should make determining which broker is or isn't an ECN relatively ...

Wow "1.5 to 1", that's worse than margin on stocks, I can't see the purpose in lowering it to such draconian lows. All this would do is cause an exodus from US registered brokers to overseas unregistered brokers and FX futures.

MBT has already come out with their own MT4 (beta), available free to all clients. Who needs a bridge anymore? Is that were actually true, won't your bridge take even longer to work out the bugs, since you don't have an entire broker's IT division ...

Just curious what the average order size is of those reporting slippage. I was under the impression Oanda offered 10M at every quote (I never believed this to be accurate, especially in this current environment).
OANDA Discussion

I'm fairly certain limit orders are treated the same at MMs as they are at ECNs (in terms of execution, either at the limit price or better). I've never heard of "bounds" on a limit order before. I agree with Big1red9 in that the way Oanda is ...

AMIFX is not an ECN. "Advanced Markets is only compensated by a markup between the bid/ask spread. " Additionally, Advanced Markets needs to raise $10M by May 16th per CFTC cap requirements. http://www.nfa.futures.org/news/new...?ArticleID=2165 ...

Only the front month is up, due to its expiration today, all of the back dated months are down 3.6 - 6% at this moment. Looks as if though USD/CAD is destined for a 4th attempt at the 1.30 level.

I don't think they're registered nor have the regulated capital requirement. If you want to just try the charts, here's their MT4.

My guess is the rollout of MT4 (and other changes) are planned as the type of retail 'value add' that to them, might justify keeping the higher rate. If so, that's a shame, because with MT4 along with the recent spread tightening, they could ...

I'm not aware of an FX broker anywhere that withholds or reports capital gains tax. Bernie Madoff gave his top clients tours of his trading office too...pure transparent, no "secrecy" there.

- Trader KGB replied Jan 6, 2009
MT4 should really include the option to not display the 5th digit on charts, where it's not really needed. QuoteTracker offers this, and I'm sure other charting packages do as well. However, considering MT4 still lacks the basic ability to set local ...
