pt49 replied Jul 20, 2013Some brokers have software or scripts that overcome the limitations of FIFO, but if you are American, I'm not so sure. The only real solution for Americans is to set up an offshore company/business structure so that you can open broker accounts in ...

pt49 commented Jul 19, 2013All your squiggly lines are all based on the past (they are lagging indicators) Price will go where it fits best, then after the fact your indicators will show where its been, and if you use them to predict where price is headded, you are doomed to ...

pt49 replied Jul 15, 2013In my opinion it would be better to keep the job and put the savings into the trading account. Savings to live on for 2 years is a lot of money, probably at least $35,000 if living in the Western world. If you can make 5% a month you would be ...

pt49 replied Jul 15, 2013One of the problems with giving up work is that we have too much time on our hands and we tend to overtrade, especially when we are bored... so just be careful. Maybe have swome way of monitoring yourself.

pt49 replied Jul 15, 2013Time doing this is irrelevent, I've been trading 9 years, with several breaks along the way because of big losses. Some traders get control of their emotions in 6 months, others may take 6 years. No trader gets the consistentcy of steady winning ...

pt49 replied Jul 15, 20133.5% risk is quite high in my opinion. By reducing that risk to say 0.4% the losing trades won't hurt as much. Losing 3.5% on a single trade 3 or 4 trades in a row will usually lead to revenge trading. I've modified my strategy conciderably and so ...

pt49 replied Jul 15, 2013The reason its stressful is that you are overleveraged in your trades. Divide your risk by a multiple of 10 and you can go to bed safely. Instead of putting 4 lots ($40) in a trade, make it 0.4 ($4) or better yet, 0.04 (40 cents) per position.

pt49 commented Jul 13, 2013AUD will go to 0.85 A rate cut in August is a virtual certainty now, and that does nothing to strengthen anything. Employment hours are dropping, job ads are dropping as well, so the AUD is too high at 0.90

pt49 replied Jul 12, 2013Number of open positions is one thing, but exposure (number of lots) is more important. While my lot size is just 0.06 yours is at least 10 times larger per position, so while my maximum exposure is less than 1 whole Lot over all open positions, ...

pt49 replied Jul 12, 2013Looks like I'm on the comeback trail... 14 months since I started this account and getting back towards break even. That might sound bad, but there's not many live accounts on FF that are 14 months old I'm sure.

pt49 commented Jul 9, 2013I think we'll be seeing 0.8700 before we see 0.9500 There are local predictions of as low as 0.8000 in the current down run. RBA hinted at several more interest rate drops this year, and interest rate cuts always drag the aussie lower.
