What exactly makes a currency (be it the greenback or any other) "strong"? the only one to dictate such statement is the chart and price. Fundamentals are good if you trade very long term, but otherwise you cannot go against price/chart/trends.

I agree that forex is not the best market for such small moves. I find it easier to actually trade off the hourly chart aiming for 30 to 50 pips than trading off the 5 mins chart aiming for 10. Spreads are too costly for such small target price.

Trends occur in all currency pairs. I think it's pointless to stick to one currency pair searching for trends. Instead, comb many currency pairs (and time frames) searching for trending scenarios.
