Ted1983 replied Sep 29, 2008Please let me clarify. Luck in the superstitious sense does not exist. No right thinking individual believes it does. However there is an element of random chance in everything. This is what I was refering to when using the term "luck".

Ted1983 replied Sep 29, 2008Agreed. The word gamble for some is a four letter word.

Ted1983 replied Sep 29, 2008Uncertainty, and therefore "luck", is demonstrable at the most fundamental levels of existence. Without it we loose free will, a tennet which is required for any functioning society, I'm sure you'll agree. The crux of this argument is that some ...

Ted1983 replied Sep 29, 2008I guess which specific definition you chose depends on your own risk tolerance. And I do believe that all forms of business involve a gamble. However the free dictionary definition was obviously concoted by a grade A moron, as it uses the word ...

Ted1983 replied Sep 29, 2008No you are wrong. That is still gambling. Please look up gambling in the dictionary.

Ted1983 replied Sep 23, 2008Don't want to cause a big debate or anything (unless it stays reasonably friendly). Nevertheless Pluto is now considered to be Kuiper belt object. Although of course it was once considered a planet. I guess the OP started this thread for a laugh ...

Ted1983 replied Sep 22, 2008Would you all agree that if this blows to the upside we have a very low risk high reward situation?

Ted1983 replied Sep 22, 2008ATR is 100% reliable its just a statistical measure afterall. I like to use ATR 24 or multiples of it on the hourly, for obvious reasons. I think ATR settings should be fairly short or we defeat the object of applying the measure at all.
