I'm no expert on stochs but I'd have been inclined to control the trade with the 15 Min stoch. So you entered using the 5 Min stoch which should be confirmed by the 15 Min stoch and use the 15 Min stoch to exit the trade.

The learning curve is still very steep. Unfortunately. Have you tried websites like url I learnt a lot from this website and if you are interested I can post a few threads that I found very helpful.

I'd personally wait for the main trend. You never know how far a retrace will go. Some people scalp counter trends for 10 pips or so.
