Whatever works, but the bottom is longterm resistance and has been touched three times, and the descending TL now has 5 points. Both are significant, more so than the shorter term channel.

The relationship is certainly not that simple. Wait too long, and winrate suffers, and getting in early may only have a minimal effect on winrate. This doesn't provide an edge, it just adjusts the distribution of profit. This is a personal viewpoint ...

Agghh. Had a siesta at 2280 or so, wake up 12 (!) hours later to find my shorts went for a ride, only to come back and spike through my stop. It's about time that I learn that when I go to sleep, something probably will happen. Should've trailed the ...

Those who can predict, get in ahead. Those who can't, react and take worse prices.

I do not think that is an appropriate reaction to a small retracement after a new low.

We do learn much of it, we just don't get it. Many of my "aha" moments were things I was already aware of, but didn't truly appreciate. I imagine the same is true for many people.

Two before trading: 1. Viewing the world in terms of maths. 2. Only taking good price. Since trading, and roughly in order. Some void earlier ones, and some were "rediscovered" to be done properly. - Support and resistance. - Only need charts. - ...

I'm not suggesting to move it faster, as I can't tell you how best for you to manage your stop. I'm just pointing out that nothing is free - all actions have a cost. Maybe I'm being a little picky over your use of the word "free", but it's said all ...

No trade is free, all actions we take have consequences. The faster we move up a stop, the lower the survivability of the trade; the slower we move it up, the more we stand to lose if the market moves against us.

Generally it matters much less than people think. A good trade will be usually be profitable on a very large range of risk-reward ratios. Of course there will be an optimal ratio, but I doubt most people put in a lot of effort to narrow the range, ...

We have to find something that not only works for us, but something that suits us. Some may be better at one timeframe, others may prefer another. I seem best at position trading, as well as it being what I enjoy. I've probably over-argued precise ...
why is everyone so afraid to average down?
- Mr J replied May 30, 2010
What a fickle crowd. We hit a speed bump after a heavy drop, and people are coming out of the woodwork to call a bottom, with probably no more skill than those who called the top halfway through last year.

3000 pips is the current trend, and I'm talking about the drops within that trend. I'm not talking about a change of trend, but that people are calling for the next drop every day, and they're usually wrong. There's always an impatience about the ...

People have been calling for the big break for a week. And before the last week, it was the week before the last drop. Before that, the months of ranging. Seems many are in a rush - it'll break when it breaks.

Never said we said we won't move further south afterwards, I just don't think we're ready to drop yet. If you didn't agree, I don't think you would have mentioned your interest at 2440-50. My interest will be at about 2460-70.

We're still below resistance though. The most probable outcome in my mind is a slight move down, followed by a move up.
