DutchTrader replied Jul 30, 2007Again, 250 to 239, and 123.87 to 118 is the same to you?

DutchTrader replied Jul 30, 2007Agreed, every bull run, in order to take its course requires a healthy correction.

DutchTrader replied Jul 30, 2007From 250 to 239.90 and from 123.87 to 118.54. How is that the same? Or are you looking at some other mathematical equation?
Is This The End of the Yen Carry Trade?
-
DutchTrader replied Jul 30, 2007Exactly. Which is why I don't believe we've seen the end of this carry trade correction. I think that we also need to realize that these pairs are so sky high that even a 500-1000 pip correction would still leave many pairs at multi decade highs.

DutchTrader replied Jul 29, 2007Actually the simple answer is that the rate increase profile of the US is far less bullish, and has been for some time now, than that of the BoE, RBA and RBNZ. So you could make the case that the 300 pip drop in USD/JPY is just as significant as the ...

DutchTrader replied Jul 29, 2007Friend of mine is in since 107. FYI small retrace now, not nearly 100 pips, again better short levels imvho. I think this pair's gonna tank brutally. What will be interesting is to see what, if any, effect the Japanese elections will have.

DutchTrader replied Jul 29, 2007Looking at the charts the AUD is on a tremendous run, what i should've said is that even if it hits 80 it would still be at a yearly high or multidecade high. So my thinking is that it will hit that level before markets start to seriously consider ...

DutchTrader replied Jul 29, 2007If you look at GBP, NZD, and AUD vs the JPY they're all overpriced so to speak versus the JPY. So we could arguably see 1000 pips drop in those pairs and still see it at very high levels. The carry trade will not end not versus the AUD in my ...
End of Carry Trade
-
DutchTrader replied Jul 28, 2007That chart gives me a headache. All I know is what TraderKGB said, the only stable pair to me is the USD/JPY because that hasn't moved in such outlandish fashion. The AUD, NZD and GBP could all drop around 500 pips and still be at all time highs. ...

DutchTrader replied Jul 28, 2007A close friend of mine trades a large account, currenex, and he hasn't moved the market trading 2000 lots. He says it also depends on the pair and market liquidity. Again, his words not mine. From another friend at Deutsche I've been told it takes ...

DutchTrader replied Jul 27, 2007Bravado, We're heading to great levels for longs. Afterall what really changed in terms of the fundamental interest rate spread difference btw RBA and BoJ. Plus many are forgetting that the RBA still has a tightening bias.
