Good point and worth taking on board, however with an ever evolving set of participants ( buyers and sellers )the percentages of same thinking strategies gradually decline, parties able to manipulate can't rely on it as much.

Forecasting from past events appears a bit chancy. Fundamentals seem stronger, but the more levels you use the longer it takes to acquire a target.

this is squewed, too many buyers not enough houses, prices can go nowhere but up. so if prices down it is fake. Government now easing building regulations, so maybe in 3/4 years prices will slow but not stop, without pound meltdown.
