Thanks, here is my current MO: I find that the 5min is essentially the only part that I vitally need. The daily 3k is useful to tell me where a price "may" change trends, which helps to decide whether to be aggressive in the future or not. However, ...

You can do it fti! I hope your good day continues
I'm still in "university" mode (have to take notes fast & summarize...sometimes I can't even read my own writing). I'm weird abstract sequential learner-I build cathedral not brick by brick, but ...Technical Analysis Fallacy

So then fti's MO is by in large trend following-aka, trading when 5min aligns with daily. Meanwhile, we watch shorter TF's for possibility of an ending trend (I find the 3K spinoff on the 5min works well) However, we are allowed to trade the ...

My question is basically: If daily trend says down, and 5min flow says up. What is my directional bias? 5min (now)? Or with daily (big ships)? Maybe I should take trades only when 5min flow is in the direction of the daily...

Yes Gro, makes sense. The issue I am having right now is I know with good precision whether the impulse is about to begin or end. I have a harder time knowing which direction it will go. I was hoping that romancing the 3k would provide me a good ...

thanks gro, so it looks like G and U on my graph were in sync all along, just that Y is causing G & U to accelerate their move down. ok, 3K used for "general" directional bias. Pulse used for rest. I like your interpretation of time window, but I ...

Thanks Gro, the line with 2 arrows show the growing size of the volatility right? I find it unsettling that although the 3k trend might be down, there exist multiple correction days-like points 3-4. Would you still choose daily bias as down? On 5 ...

Happy new years everyone!
btw, attached is my interpretation of 3k (now having the info accompanying gro's 3k picture) 1) G rises to top out (no higher high), E rises and then repulsed by G, U heads down (in sync) -up to point 1 bias is UP ...Technical Analysis Fallacy

Thanks for the advice sylar. Yes, I will work on EU only. However I have noticed that being able to see all three pairs helps a bit. I just had a light-bulb moment. I should only be using the UJ & GU to find pulse of EU when I spot "capital flow" ...

oh, I keep missing new comments while I type. @fana, yes I understand, I knew I was ok. I felt that no positions to save, so cut off (even though I could hold on longer, but the opportunity to buy would have been forgone). I have made the 2/3 money ...

ah, in retrospect it is not the pulse I have wrong. It is the directional bias (which should come from the larger volatility bands in the 3k right?). To get this straight, my 5min pulse for volatility is used for choosing skew size/possible entry ...

That's one of my many q's, how do you merge charts into one window? Wouldn't that influence the axis? I want to see the volatility band, but I can't put charts on top of charts like that. @Fana, thanks for the advice. Just to make sure, you mean I ...

From my interpretation, true average was used simply as a gauge for if you had missed the bus, and if the move was too risky to enter. I'm not advocating indicators, but I'm going to suggest putting on a 12 and 48 sma on a 5 min chart to see what ...
