On a more serious note: Belgium has 3 pan-european banks, and had to save all 3 of them (lifting the deficit more than 30% of BNP). Without the EUR, I could as well live in Iceland now

And several EZ countries are now in deep sh* because they can't devaluate their currency, which I think will make other countries think twice about creating a common currency
