Agreed. FXCM provides a demo login to their raw price feed on their Active Trader forums. I took a look at it last week and noticed no lagging.

Look guys, I took no enjoyment in writing that post, and I hope I'm proved wrong. I just felt the thread could use a little caution disclaimer for all those who seem ready to jump in with both feet. There were a lot more things I wanted to say, many ...

Not that I'm aware of, at least over the past 2-3 years. That was my general assumption all along, which also helped explain the rather favorable commission rates. Even if true, they're certainly not alone in that camp..
What's so special about Dukascopy?
- Trader KGB replied Apr 28, 2010
Absolutely, 100% unregulated. Their bank license hasn't been approved yet, I'm not sure what's holding it up, it's been well over a year. Since the Swiss gov't requires all local forex brokers to have banking licenses (and thus be FINMA regulated), ...

Right off the bat, your choices are limited to IB, MBT, & FXCM AT (and their IB, ATC). All other ECNs, such as the Currenex portals, won't offer charting, so they're out. (* I believe some Currenex brokers offer a retail platform called Viking ...

Central pivot point. *** I was asked by another FF member to take a look at this journal some time ago, and I've been biting my tongue ever since.. However, since many of you seem fairly new at this (and willing to risk money), I would be remiss if ...

I noticed this too, is this a recent change, or have orders always been fill-able at 0.1 increments rather than 0.5 increments? Seems strange to allow fills at 0.1 but only quote at 0.5... However, being that they are a portal aggregator, and most ...

Interesting.. I find it peculiar that FXCM would offer white label to non-regulated IBs, especially in light of the pending CFTC proposal calling for guaranteed IBs. I guess if it's all overseas, it might not matter. Though it would certainly help ...

My thoughts. In summary - secretive, unregulated, off-shore, very limited info, why gamble with your capital?
JadeFx Discussion

Well the biggest red flag is that of their being unregulated and domiciled out of Belize. In this day and age of massive fraud, there is virtually no reason to trust your hard earned capital with a broker that is unregulated. Given the plethora of ...

In an attempt not to sound like a complete shill (and your 13 post count is certainly not helping) would you care provide reasons why that bucketshop is better than the established, regulated ECNs?

Brokers who let you trade more than one pair on a position?
- Trader KGB replied Apr 21, 2010
I believe that's incorrect. I'm almost 100% certain that FXOpen does not pad the spread, it's 1:1 with Dukascopy. That being said, the commissions are higher at FXOpen (naturally), so unless you need to trade from MT4, it would make sense to go to ...

The thread subject is "real ECN brokers", not fly-by-night, off-shore, unregulated, no executive names, sleazy deposit options, scam-city bucketshops.

I guess the way I was looking at it is, when you place an order inside the spread, does your order become visible to the rest of the ECN participants (as the new best bid or best ask). With ATC/FXCM raw spreads, I don't believe it's possible, as ...

Most retail brokers are not sophisticated enough to handle this. The only broker I'm aware of that will let you do exactly what you describe is InteractiveBrokers. You missed something.

You shouldn't really be concerned with the safety of funds at JPM, as they're in the 'too big to fail' camp of essentially US gov't insured banks. If you'd like to take extra precaution, you're best off trading via a UK-domiciled, FSA regulated ...
