keydcuk replied May 7, 2016Hi Mr Remon, This is just an observation on my part. I could be completely wrong, but it seems that when you first started this, you were on to something really good. Method 1 that you were developing seemed that it was going to work well. Then, ...

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016For those of you who have downloaded in the interim of this post, please note I have found better settings than the defaults in which I noticed 37 of you have downloaded the v2 EA. They are simply SL 60, TP 0, Trailing Stop 60 & Breakeven 60. I have ...

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016POST #1 HAS BEEN UPDATED I have scrapped the close conditions as they are not as good as what I have been playing with. I have now Zig and Zag v2 because of this major change. Also the inputs are a bit more user friendly and I have updated post 1 ...

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016Nah, it's not of anything you said. I literally was testing today and found that the close conditions are no good. As for the idea you mention above, I will look into it. I am off to work soon so can't do anything about this now.

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016I'm on the case Carneiro. I have been playing around with the EA today and it seems to me that even though the entry signals are semi-efficient, there is better profit and less losses to be made using trailing stops and fixed TPs it would seem. I ...

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016Oh right, control point method. I think you are missing a crucial point indicated in the MT4 backtester. It says "results are not to be considered." Does anybody know the use of control point backtesting if MT4 themselves say this?

keydcuk replied May 7, 2016The only reason it is that many lines of code is because the software I use fxdreema has a lot of template code in the making of EAs. I am quite happy to program anything so long as there are clear strategies I understand and can code. The other ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016Yeah, it's a tricky one. I tried the 1min chart as well and it's not too bad in some instances. I have thought about manually closing trades too but then in some cases there is a lot missed for pips. It can trade nice long trades by itself. What I ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016Hmmmm.... I have tried this and it is not profitable at all. What broker are you using? I noticed that with my Tallinex account, my backtesting produces false positives. It makes things look more successful that it actually is. This is why my main ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016The stop loss condition is there for trades that execute badly. The TP condition is already set by saying that the EA trades from low semafor (3) to high semafor (3) on buy trades and high semafor (3) to low semafor (3) on sell trades with the added ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016Sorry, maybe this was clearer in my mind when I did post 1. Please bear in mind that the 3 Level ZZ Semafor repaints as it makes higher highs or lower lows. I attached this screenshot and hopefully it will be a bit clearer. Let me know if you still ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016I advise you, don't be fooled. The reason you are not seeing equity drops on your backtest is because it only measures equity on closure of trades. If all trades are closed then you will not see the equity line drop. I too have backtested this EA ...
Accumulative Profits Grid System

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016The EA doesn't do too bad. It is very infrequent when it can't handle market conditions as price nearly always turns back on itself at one point or another. Major events like the global recession and about once a year there is a trend period of ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016Because I haven't altered the indicator settings, I feel this works best in a 5 min TF. I have tried other TFs but the experimenting is not over. This is less of a fully finished EA but am looking for collaborative ideas to reduce the amount of ...

keydcuk replied May 6, 2016YES, sorry about that. It was very late last night and I should have checked the final revision of v1 before I uploaded it to the site. The bug has been fixed and the mq4 on post 1 works as well.
Happy Pipping!
