DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007Seeking, Chart breakdown meaning technical analysis is meaningless and its either panic buying/selling. Such as after 9/11, but if you want to quibble with that then go ahead. Whatever.

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007They've got no choice, the US is their biggest market. Plus geopolitically the US needs the Japanese as a counterweight to China in the Asia Pacific region. Notice the US has tacitally allowed Yen weakness while squawking mightily at Yuan weakness. ...

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007Yep I've been eating very well off AJ and AU, I'm waiting to see what London does as the volume is much larger when they're in session. We could see a bounce, albeit temporarily, and then another round of seling to see us target those August/Oct ...

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007Imvho we're experiencing a chart breakdown, ala the selloff in the beginning of the year. This is when techs really become meaningless and you have to trade the mass psychology.

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007If the equities bottom, so will the carry trade pairs. The interesting thing is that we have a 1000 pips or so to go on the carry pairs, AJ and NJ in particular, until the longterm bull trend would be considered broken.

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007I agree with that. The debt servicing model is clearly becoming too much of a drag on the overall economic/social well being of the US.

DutchTrader replied Nov 11, 2007Zoran, I agree with your NZD/JPY call, the trendlines in NZD/JPY usually hold and the yield is still very attractive. However should Asian equities tank then all bets are off. With that being said I favor an upside surge, followed by a selloff in ...

DutchTrader replied Nov 9, 2007They're dead, they broke through the 13100 mark. I'm expecting some bounces on the Jpy crosses and whatnot but I'll be looking to sell any rally. We could arguably retrace all the way back to the 100% fibo off this move and then do it all over ...
