Today it was a bad day for me on USDCAD as well. News slapped my trail stop order just to run once again in my direction immediately after. I scored an overall +11 pips on USDCAD today on a position that looked very nicely at the beginning for a ...

Let's just leave "The Matrix" pseudo-philosophy out of this alright? My point is that computers can now play chess better than the world champion, they can fly a 747 better than a 30 year-experience pilot or can play Street Fighter 2 better than an ...

What a load of non-sense. Trading without emotion is NOT possible because it's YOUR money and YOUR excellence what's at stake. I get upset when a stoploss is triggered, and I get PRETTY pissed off when a profitable trade turns around on me. It's ...

How many variables can there be that are not computable? interest rates? oil prices? fundamental data (employment data, trade balance, etc)? technical levels of support/resistance? international affairs (wars, terrorism, etc)? obvious levels of stop ...

A 500 pip drawdown on a trade based off the Hourly chart is out of whack. That'd be, perhaps, acceptable off the weekly/monthly but not off the hourly. Regarding what you can do now, who knows. Perhaps account in the loss, learn the lesson (plan ...

That's a 500-pip drawdown mate. What time frame did you base those trades on?

Perhaps you're right SeekingLight, the "call" must come from within no matter how often you're told.

Sure, and in the meantime have a dozen stoplosses being hit in the process until you finally get that oh-so-clear reversal right for a change... *sigh*, I am about to give up...

You know, as a chess aficionado I was one of those who swore that a machine would never outsmart a chess master, but we all know how that went with Big Blue and Kasparov. So I do believe you've got a point and trading might follow the same way. ...

I dont know about EURUSD. It's definitely got less steam than cable at this time, unable to break out from 1.3750 and 1.3800. Moreover, the swissie's breakout this morning didnt pull through: it peeped below 1.2000 just to dive back into the ...

You know the job of a trader, all day long sitting your butt looking at the screen, so why not doing something useful in the meantime

My trailing stop got hit last week at 270 pips. I had previously banked out 280 pips, so average 275. I intended to let the second half run to 400 pips (which would have been hit by now), but a spike down knocked me out of the trade.
