ddaytrader replied Mar 14, 2016I thought the ES was rather easy today - clear up trend from the test of Friday's range breakout/pullback level then rally all day, albeit a choppy rally. Tomorrow afternoon is FOMC. I am taking tomorrow off completely.

ddaytrader replied Mar 14, 2016Thank you for sharing those observations. Interesting that Friday's pre-market (Globex) high was tested as support and became today's RTH low.

ddaytrader replied Mar 12, 2016My trading style shouldn't be new to anyone as it is as old as trading itself. Writers from Livermore to Elliot to Raschke to Brooks describe these exact price action concepts. I made none of them up. I can't even say I discovered them for myself. I ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 11, 2016I did not. I missed so much this morning that I really felt that I was no longer in the right frame of mind to trade. I had a good week, and I did not want to compound my negative feelings at having missed a good opportunity this morning by ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 11, 2016Well, jtrade, I started trading my project account again this week starting on Wednesday. Here is what I came up with after my last 6 to 8 weeks of "rehab." I am using basic PA: double tops & double bottoms, 3-push wedges, S&R breakout-pullbacks ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 11, 2016I do not look to one minute bars. Also, I do not limit my entries and exits to the bars themselves. I will enter near a low or high S/R area if the set up is right regardless of how much "time" is left in a bar. I seem to be better able to judge ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 11, 2016Not waiting for anything in particular other than a set up that fits my plan. Two long set ups I ignored for some reason. Should have been a good day, but as it is it is basically a slightly positive scratch day. This might be the slowest grind I've ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 11, 2016I had one trade which I closed for +1 tick. I was just about to post this chart when I saw your post. The ES has been in this range since 3:00 AM EST No sense risking anything until price is either testing one or the other extreme or breaking out ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 10, 2016If it were a disruption, it was of the good variety, where it awakens one to the possibilities of which he has either been unaware or that he had somehow forgotten. I have long been one who prefers to hold for bigger targets, entering at the ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 10, 2016I did trade the afternoon session and it looks like I'll finish with about +6 points for the day, with which I am well satisfied. I am not satisfied with whatever was going on this morning. Still trying to figure out if it was the platform or if it ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 10, 2016Nice trading D. I had a rough day. Either my multicharts platform got glitchy or I got stupid. My bracket orders kept entering as double the position size so my stops became stop and reverses which cost me $$$. Finally got it straightened out in ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 10, 2016It sometimes coincides with the first five minute bar, it can be less or more. Basically, the market first tries to go up (or down), and it then tries to go down (or up). At some point there will be a lower high or a higher low during this back and ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 10, 2016Those were all short sales as price was below the opening range. In hindsight I should have taken the 3 point profit offered by the gap fill and been done with it until the next set up, which for me was the 1st double top short sale of the day. ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 9, 2016The window has 15 minutes before it closes for me. A green candle and I would buy a one tick stop above the high of the candle. A red candle and a candle close below this trend line would be a short one tick below the candle low. As it is, however, ...

ddaytrader replied Mar 9, 2016Not much going on since this morning. 9:30 AM EST to 11:30 AM EST is my main window for entering trades. I also look for set ups beteen 13:30 EST and 15:30 EST. One could trade this if one wanted to do so, but I like to trade near highs/lows, and ...
