Trading like that would drive me nuts. I like to build positions and hold them. A scalp for me is anything under 30-45 mins.

BBC here just reported that the UBS trader himself reported the trade feckup to UBS and it wasn't the risk department who caught him.

Knowing where the major levels are keeps you out of longer term trades, you know when to scalp them, you know when to hold them. I am just seeing if I am going back to BTFD mode here or switch sides to STFR mode.

That's why I am here shooting the breeze, covered all at my number watching to see what is shaking. You are right though, never ever trow away a number, the feckers keep coming back, price can't help itself. Nothing random about the markets.

They were too worried about the dress code to keep an eye on the traders. Delta desk was always fairly independent though, not sure if it got restructured after the Swiss bailed them out. Lost touch with most of them.

I for one am surprised by the lack of risk control at UBS though, not surprised it happened at Delta, they have gotten themselves in plenty of holes before. Some rumours flying around that the Swiss government has had enough, they own UBS after all ...
