Poor retail traders are going to be wiped out by them unless they can figure out how to adjust. What happens to liquidity then? Eventually the "programs" will adjust to their adjustments and the party will be over? I think i can see that eventuality.

Well i would assume the largest portion of the spikes are stops going off after the initial buy/sell movement until a larger sell/buy order is run into. There must be a "pile on" effect also at some point. I think these algorithms are mostly ...
