Arnold49 replied Dec 11, 2008Tonirai, surely it's the other way round? If your in a short trade you aren't looking for a setup bar to breach the upper ema, but to breach the lower one. Steve.

Arnold49 replied Dec 5, 2008Question — Hi Bob, last night I set up 2 new charts and put the EA's on then started them up, but only the buy one worked, I removed the sell one & put it back several times, but to no avail. This morning I tried again, but this time it would ...

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008Pitpiter, if you are still short all you need to do is put your SL at 1.4771. when the current bar closes it will be a setup bar, then you will move your SL to the top of that bar (+5 +spread) and then put a buystop in the same place with it's SL at ...

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008Denverdude, yes to the first part, if the current bar closes the short trade due to the 50% rule, its because it failed to make a new low, so it couldn't become a setup bar. we would then be flat and waiting for a new setup bar. Steve.

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008Pitpiter, yes, that is correct, but in this case they are the same as we have not moved the SL, howerver yours is the technically correct answer. Steve.

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008Tonirai, post 500 seems to answer this "...are exit was at 2 PM because of the 50% rule. When the reversal trade failed at 2Pm you would have exited becasue it was already past 50% retracement." & post 503 "Trade #21 went huge in are favor its a ...

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008I've looked into doing this in excel but it is a bit daunting, so I will try simply running the two EAs, one at a time thru the strategy tester and try to find optimal settings for each, I'll look into this when I get home tonight. Steve.

Arnold49 replied Dec 3, 2008I'll try to answer this, if the current candle doesn't trigger the buy stop & doesn't make a new low then we leave everything as is, if however, the next candle does the same, we put the 50% rule into operation (due to a greater than 150 pips trade) ...

Arnold49 replied Dec 2, 2008seems strange however, that they will all use the same settings,as they must have different characteristics. EUR/GBP will not retrace as far as the least safe one will. we could do with a way to work out average retracement values and adjust the EA ...

Arnold49 replied Dec 2, 2008I have read the whole thread, and have used the EA's on GBP/USD, never really had any probs, only when using several currencies, so I wanted to try the "safest" ones. I've now looked at the factsheet, thanks for your help. Steve.

Arnold49 replied Dec 1, 2008Cititrade, why do you consider the last bar as a setup bar? surely it has to break the 5EMA high, until then SL=1.4800 Steve.
