I was hoping that price would pay as much attention to it as it did on the 2 previous occasions, cutting through it like it wasn't even there. Let's see what happens.

I've been watching the same... I'm inclined to suspect it won't make it because of the structure off the left of your chart, just before the major swing

That will be down to different brokers... there is nothing you can do to change that (apart from opening an account with the same broker as them!)

Hello Mr. Pip, Congratulations on those trades. Do I understand correctly that the yellow arrows are your actual trades? If so, I see your first trade started around about where my second trade did... except I chickened out at the 1.35000 line ...

To fill in some background to the BC projections, Scott Carney provides the following information. C point retracement :: BC projection (which should converge with AB=CD completion) 38.2% AB :: 261.8% 50.0% AB :: 200% 61.8% AB :: 161.8% 70.7% AB :: ...

I think we're in danger of getting a little too involved in semantics... extensions, expansions, projections, retracements. Whether it is an extension or a retracement should be immediately obvious... if the fib line ends up on the opposite side to ...

It sounds like you are only using the toolbar shortcut for fibs on MT4 Take a look at Insert > Objects > Fibonacci > Fibonacci Expansion Alternatively (and at the risk of confusing you further) a 127.2% expansion is the same as a -27.2% retracement.

Draw a fib extension between point B and point C. You are interested in where the 138.2 and 161.8% extensions are in relation to the 127.2% extension of AB (shown as -27.20% on this chart), and the AB=CD completion point. Take a look at the green ...

There are some definite pros for NT, hence why I said I wish I could get on with it better. I just find it too awkward to manage trades. Which means that I'll probably be using it for tick data (which isn't possible on MT) but actually trading on a ...

In the methods used by Mr. Pip (i.e. this thread), the 'ABCD' is a particular AB=CD formation whereby C retraces to 0.618-0.786AB. If that particular criteria isn't met, it may still be an AB=CD but it is not an 'ABCD' That's it in a nutshell (I ...

Glad to help. Also, if you hold down Ctrl when moving an object (like a trendline) it creates a copy. Very handy for AB=CD I wish I could get on better with NT... but I think I'll be returning to the MT fold.

If you draw a trendline in metatrader, make sure in Properties > Parameters that 'Ray right' and 'Ray left' aren't ticked. That will give you a line segment (if I'm understanding the issue correctly)
