      One of my favorites. I call it "the switch".. Market going slightly down, at trendline price pretends to breakout but we get a narrow range high volume bar that is then easily taken out by the next one in the dominant direction.

      What if one guy sells, the other guy buys at the same time. The next guy sells two ticks lower to a buyer. In between there's no buyer and no seller. That's a one tick gap... Gaps happen all the time. It's just not possible to see it within one ...
