Yeah, his first post that included sure does provide a lot of insight and brilliance! Give me a break. A ton of arrogance for one of the most blindingly stupid things to say as advice. "Learn to trade all markets profitably then!" basically. ...
Why exactly do EMA crossover systems not work?
- smittens4212 replied Jul 22, 2011
Quite the opposite... this is by far the most active broker thread here, and I'm sure that I and most other FF traders who use MBT are happy to have this thread. He doesn't have to be here, so the fact that he is almost every day is pretty awesome, ...

There's nothing stopping anyone from making more than 30% a year trading FX. Except skill, and/or luck, of course. Earning 30% a year in any asset class is way, way more difficult than you are making it sound, though. Look at the performance of ...
Good returns realistic by trading with higher time frames?
- smittens4212 replied Jul 21, 2011
Expecting mutual funds to return 30% a year is absurd. And I suspect that many people who want to become a full time trader want it for the life benefits, i.e. working for yourself, working from anywhere, etc. more than just the money. I would ...

If I had to decide where to make a trade based on only the chart attached and no other context, I would wait to buy below 'x', after all the suckers went short trying to trade a breakout.

You overlooked one key point about this argument: 95% of traders don't control 95% of the money in the market. Not even close. Consider how many of the 95% are people who open $400 micro accounts, blow it all, and then stop trading. This is a silly ...
95% losers - Fact or Fiction?
- smittens4212 replied Jun 30, 2011
Couldn't agree more. What I think is pretty arrogant is tdion takes his own experiences in the market and extrapolates them as truisms of some sort. I couldn't beat the market, ergo no one can beat the market. I couldn't apply ________ to the market ...

I just mean the 'nobody really knows what they're doing' part. Clearly there are many traders who 'know what they're doing'. They may not be right 100% of the time, but you wouldn't call a team who wins 8/10 games a loser, would you? I agree that ...
I'm tired of reading "I'd have made more but I made mistakes."

Yes, I do buy into the self-fulfilling prophesy, sort of, and only on the longer time frames, but there is still far too much subjectivity when it comes to fib numbers, and far too much leniency given when one says they work. Look at the downtrend ...

I've seen multiple threads/posts from you along these lines, and as always, I disagree completely. Quite tired of reading it, too.

None of this has to do with trading or markets whatsoever. He was a great mathematician, no doubt, but markets are purely made up of human behavior and psychology. Neither of which as far as I know have any overlap with Fibonacci numbers. To be ...
Fibonacci Indicator? Is it a big Joke?

I don't use fibs, but I could care less if someone wants to trade with them. To each his own, trade with the stars if you want. That being said, to those who say the market commonly retraces to fib levels, does it really? I mean does it really ...
Fibonacci Indicator? Is it a big Joke?
- smittens4212 replied Jun 20, 2011
I actually disagree. What 'the market' cares about is hardly black and white, since 'the market' is made up of all participants, and at any given time how do you know that W traders aren't looking at X technical tool, Y fundamental data, or Z's ...
