What is also bearish for spot Gold is that price is, at the moment (Friday's Close), down on a quarterly bar basis, or below the March 31st close by approx $10. So almost 3 month's days of trading and nothing to show for it for long term bulls.

Close. $VIX is referred to as the Fear Index. High reading - high fear, low reading low fear. As to what the options market is thinking volatility will be 30 days out into the future.

Other 3 major indices (SPX, NDX & RUT) are all seeing buying come in. Not Dow currently - sideways, although momentum is picking up slightly.

Crude gapped up on the open tonight (OPEC cutting production), DXY up as well and all Dollar FX pairs the other way. Which is naturally causing Gold to drop as well. At least for the moment.
