there is no difference between ordinary MACD anf golden MACD in this settings (5,13,1 ) , but if you set Golden MACD (5,13,9) you will see some white bars for the flat trend. and i dont have the source code.

some times when i have a clear picture for the trend i do the same , for an early entry i shift to 15 min chart and enter the trade if all conditions are met.
