These wedges are a very interesting prospect Alan, thank you for sharing their usefulness with us. In the period you show I do notice more wedges are present such as the wedge outlined by the pink circle on your chart below. Do you have criteria ...

Alan What was your higher timeframe bias clues for yesterday's long trade(s)? Personally, I only had a long bias based on the higher timeframe EMAs seeming to head toward long ema swing targets, but there was no higher timeframe divergences or other ...

Currently long from 3561 but resistance at previous ema swing. Initial stop at -20 pips but now BE. Target is 3601 (next ema swing target at 3618 so within range). Subsequent triangle breakout heading to ~3604. image

Thanks Alan, looks very interesting. When trading these would you enter on the close of the breakout bar or just as soon as price breaks the trendline?

Which way will it break? Keeping an eye on how this wedge (shown as red trendlines) on the 4H chart evolves. Bears failing at the moment to remain below the EMA after a HD at yesterday's 12h00 bar. image

Hi Mayflower, I think Alan was talking about the wedge triangles that he has introduced to us relatively recently, and not the ABCDs when responding to your query. The way your screenshot represented it also made me think you were talking about the ...

Thanks Alan, so the lower ema swing targets on the 5min should just be regarded as hurdles on the way to a target that we select at about 40 or more pips because the likelihood of hitting the 4H HH (which was more than 40 pips away) is relatively ...

I noticed a bullish hidden divergence at bar 109 on the 5min chart but EMA swing targets were quite close at ~19 and 28 pips so stayed out. Alan, if targets are this close on the 5 min do you still enter and ignore these if you believe that price ...

Yes, it made it as below from the 1 hour chart (30 May ~15h00 onward). image I'm assuming these wedge triangles are only used for targets, and not for breakout trading because of the structure adjustments when required?

Alan, I've been looking at the charts for these triangles and they are numerous - what are your expectations for a suitable triangle? For example in the image below price went from a swing high to swing low and I can see 2 triangles (first one where ...

Understood, thank you Alan. As for yesterday's trades I was looking to trade short at a HTF ZOO because most HTF EMAs were trending short with swing level targets below. I was sitting on my hands until the price reached the 1h EMA. The 5m did so in ...

4H 1H, and 15m EMA's trending down but 5m stuck between ABCD 50% ranges. Also have 2 AB=CD targets on either side. Guess patience is the order of the day today. image

Very nice Alan. Was your reasoning for the trade that you were looking for shorts at a higher timeframe ZOO, which in this case was the 1h EMA, and entered after the RSI div on the 15 min at its EMA swing level? I can see several opportunities on ...

The pivot being compared was tiny and it was the 06h00 1h bar from the 27th May. I've attached the following as an explanation for why the indicator won't show the HD: image Essentially the RSI is divergent at a price slightly higher than the ...

Tried a long scalp but stopped at BE+1. 1h had HD at terminal area of AB=CD (and also S1 from pivot indicator) so entered upon 2BT on 5 min. Target would've been swing level at 3514. Moved stop to BE after bull support formed, but pullback got me. ...
