Yes I was told by Alpari it was a swiss intervention. Whatever it was it seems it has not happened only at Alpari. I just wanted to know whether it happened only to me or to others. I have seen requotes at Alpari but I am trading long term and I ...

The only problem I had with DLLs was passing strings back to an EA. The key was to pass the string from the EA appropriatelly and allocate some space for the string which MT4 doesn't do by default e.g. when calling my DLL function in the EA: (the ...

Are you using any other software to back/forward test except MT4. I can say MT4 doesn't have secrets for me anymore but I am not sure how real the history quotes provided by MetaQuotes are. And I kind of doubt the results.

If it has to be a file and you want to avoid locks what you can do is to write in a new file each time and name e.g. MT4 can write a file with the name 20080807115300120 which is based on date/time stamp to the hundreds of a second. When you read ...

Does it have to be DDE? You can write a DLL and export a function which you can call from an EA. This way you have access in the DLL to anything you have access within an EA. If you want to do it realtime you can use COM to talk to Excel.

I also had a version of the EA which was making like 300-500% but was eventually loosing the whole account 2-3 times over the 8 years period. I wasn't sure which one is better just risk everything and withdraw regularly or withdraw very rare and ...

Thanks Tdion, After seeing your post I checked the trades and even thought many of them are with TP 10-20 I haven't seen 1 which is in the same minute. The open positions are open for an average of 30-50 min. This system actually is placing trades ...

To answer one of the previous questions - it is not a martingale system. Part of the money management is using an idea from martingale i.e. it uses certain number of lots and after a loss it uses a bit more for sometime, but after another loss it ...

It is an EA backtest. I have been trying to fine tune this system. I have a very similar one running on a forward demo for the last month and it is more profitable but I think it will fail one day and that is why I am trying to improve it. I guess ...

My concern is that I may be too much conservative. the drawdown is 23%. Sure I can push it up a bit, but not sure whether this is wize. It will increase the profit more or less 2 times but on what cost. It still won't fail for the test from 2000 ...
