What Leverage is best for a newbie? NONE. Trade a demo account, until you have doubled it at least 5 times. Then open a small micro/cent real account. Do the same, then consider adding to it, or growing it organically.

I wouldnt recommend it. I use Metatrader for manual trading and for my automated system.

Demo trade, until you double, treble your account, at least 5 times. Only then should you even consider trading with real money manually.

Simply put. Succesful trading is 95% risk management and 5% strategy. Get the risk management part wrong and its KABOOM!

I just tried calling my bank, (barclays) and they said the chargeback would only work if the payment was made by credit card, not debit card. My deposits were via debit card so Im not eligible... Were your payments via credit or debit card?

More leverage is extremely powerful if you know what your doing, and manage your risk. The problem therefore is not the leverage, but the majority of retail traders inability to manage risk. Trading is 95% risk management and 5% strategy.
