Yes, completely accurate. I agree. Had my fair share of loses during big news announcements. Won some of it, but at the end of the day, more losses than winnings, so I try to avoid it now.

Best choice, use Desktop/Laptop for chart analysis and placing trades. Mobile MT4 is for monitoring your trades. I never found it to be good for actual trading.

Yes it is possible. Some brokers have that in T&C and some brokers have schedule for leverage decrease in regards to your current balance. Your best bet is to contact your broker and clear the doubts.
