I'm $75. $50 was recession / panic price. $100 so look like speculative level / huge psychological level. $75 the average... I'm actually long a Brazilian oil company waiting for $75.

Pierced the $59 today... Higher demand expectations (not the demand per se) move oil. Time will be gone to long oil assets when the economy reaches cruising speed again.

Despite of the swing in the process, I'm trying to figure out what is oil price for a picking-up economy. $50 was the recession price, as it seems, for just a few good news pushed oil up fast. BTW, $58 right now.

Brazilian Petrobras has reported several huge reserve findings. They did dick for oil price. It's all about dollar weakness and speculation rather than anything else, imho.

It's oil/USD. As non-USD countries are paying more dollars for a barrel, they can use a weaker-then-their-currencies dollar to work as hedging. Here in Brazil, gas prices are unchanged for 2 years, coz as "OIL/USD" is going up, USD/BRL is going ...
