As many as 50,000 stray biters roam the streets and vacant homes of bankrupt Detroit, replacing residents, menacing humans who remain and overwhelming the city’s ability to find them homes or peaceful deaths. Dens of as many as 20 walkers have been ...

Same here, definitely leaving them. 8 hrs since the MCP statement + the ECB conference but spread is between 3-11 on G/U and 3 on E/U, not mentioning other pairs. “Dynamic spreads”, translate: bucket-shop rates.

I also trade these time-based CZ's, when I can find the time... The principle is the same, and every other day the Asian session is a CZ in SSBO anyway. The entry is not the same, though.

Weekly update: off we go (highlighted the CZ this time). image Also, action on my favourite E/U this week: image I trade the re-test to improve R:R. I traded the first hand-drawn CZ while on the go. Took a while to hit TP. Watched but missed my ...

Or, to put it in a nutshell, you can find the method in the first few posts of Forexhard. The rest (trade management and money management) is up to you. The method is called Stairstep Breakouts for a reason. In the thread, you will find plenty of ...

Do you see what I see? image Have a nice weekend.

Very insightful. But I'd stress the importance of data sample. Retail brokers have different data feeds (and spreads), so we are back to square one when migrating our SSBO settings from one to the other.

See post #5298 from a few days back. You can't get the signal arrows larger, they are hard-coded in MT4. Try bar-chart or line-chart and see the difference. For the rest: image

(Sorry, Ben, one last tweak... Had no time to post it yesterday.) When I suffered a massive drawdown on G/U a couple of weeks back during my 100-day forward-test, it made me think and re-think. Merely playing with the settings would've been ...

These “compounding calculations” sound more like the salesman who “introduced” me into forex. And the other guy I met who had a cutting-edge “1 percent a day” forex strategy. Reality check!

Don't worry, I'm confused as well. One thing I know, just set the bastard thing to 1 & 1, no martingaling, I never wanted to use it anyway. Now I know how to switch it off.

I'm having it the opposite way (they don't appear), but either way, that's MT4 for ya... I'm sure this glitch has been discussed already. We just have to remember to refresh the indicator when starting MT4.

I entered on re-test (red arrow) with a pending order as I'd missed the b/o. Closed it manually at 25p. I just love these tight overnight CZ's. (Vertical line = London open.) Even better at round numbers. Can't miss them on MT4 Mobile after spending ...

I did not mean to confuse priorities, and do not suggest anybody do so. A breakout is still No.1. I thought the MA (EMA or SMA) would act as an additional filter to consider taking a position. Btw. to base anything consistent on moving averages, I'd ...
- Belmont replied Feb 2, 2013
No prob. Does anybody have any idea how the EMA_filter setting works? I thought the indi would simply filter positions by selling short below the MA, and buying long above it, but it's not the case. Also, EMA_filter seems to ignore ...

Getting a wee bit off-topic now, folks. I don't think you have to be an old-skool geek to find your MT4 folder and put the f'ken thing there, common sense. But if you want to keep your old settings and try the new indi, here's my suggestion: 1. Run ...

Yes, sir! Having said that, this was my first Trade Set Loss on G/U in 100 days forward tested, no settings changed. Thank you! image

For me, last week was a complete disaster. Lost a set of 4, then the next trade went to trade 3 and I missed the 4th winning trade at market open (in the middle of the Asian session). I have to go back to testing CZ's manually. image

The market never sleeps, but don't forget that there are 5 trading days/week. 100 days ~ 5 months
