QLD to tighten underground gas monitoring

The Queensland Government will roll out new health and safety regulations for underground coal mines next year. It will place tighter controls on methane gas monitoring and require additional monitors in underground coal mines. The reforms will come into force starting January 6 to protect Queensland mine workers from potentially dangerous methane gas levels.
