Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont on Thursday unveiled an ambitious plan to combat climate change that represents a declaration of war on the fossil fuel industry. At roughly $US16.3 trillion, it’s the most expensive proposal to address the climate crisis from any 2020 Democrat. Sanders’ blueprint for addressing climate change builds off the “Green New Deal” plan introduced by progressives in Congress.
