In May 2019, the DG ECFIN flash estimate of the consumer confidence indicator picked up in both the euro area (0.8 points up) and the EU (1.1 points up). At −6.5 points (euro area) and −6.2 points (EU), both indicators are well above their respective long-term averages of −10.7 (euro area) and −10.0 (EU). (full story)
