Moscow Hungers for Larger Share of China's Energy Market
During his visit to Beijing last week, President Vladimir Putin confirmed Moscow's commitment to meeting China's enormous energy needs, saying Russia was ready to provide the world's second-largest economy with "uninterrupted" and "ecologically clean" energy. Commenting on the meeting, Putin said the two sides had reinforced their interests in carrying out energy projects. However, no deals were signed.
