Brexit: Irish cross-border trade now 'more economically important'
New analysis of international trade in Ireland and NI suggests trade across the Irish border has become more economically important since Brexit. The analysis comes from the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI). Changes in the recording of trade data since Brexit allow for a more consistent comparison of the trade structures of the two economies. The limitation of the study is that NI to GB trade is not recorded in the same way as an internal UK sale.
