IEA roadmap outlines immediate steps oil and gas industry must take to cut emissions

More than a third of global energy will be generated by renewable capacity by 2025, but energy-related CO2 emissions continue to increase, up 0.9% in 2022. Global production, transportation and processing of oil and gas emitted the equivalent of 5.1 billion tonnes of CO2 in 2022, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). That’s almost 15% of total energy-related greenhouse gas emissions.
