Mexico’s Minatitlan refinery off line after fire

Pemex extinguished the fire at about 2am ET today at the refinery located along Mexico's Gulf coast. The refinery will remain off line until Pemex engineers determine it is safe to restart, energy ministry Rocio Nahle said. Mexico's environmental and workplace safety agency (ASEA) had said earlier that the fire broke out in a pump used to move gasoline. The Minatitlan refinery processed 80,000 b/d of crude and produced 40,000 b/d of gasoline and 27,000 b/d of diesel in February.
