Crude oil surges on vaccine news

Crude oil prices rocketed higher on Monday after what appeared to be a major breakthrough in the quest for a vaccine against Covid-19 triggered a thorough re-pricing of risk assets in all asset classes. By 9:15 AM ET (1415 GMT), US crude futures were up 10.8% at $41.02 a barrel, their highest in nearly three week, while the international benchmark Brent was up 9.3% at $43.10% a barrel. US Gasoline RBOB Futures were up 9.2% at $1.1841 a gallon.
