Weather-adjusted winter demand to slip: National Grid

UK system operator National Grid expects weather-adjusted gas demand to slip this winter from a year earlier, as weaker LDZ demand more than offsets stronger power sector gas burn and exports to Ireland. Domestic consumption — including flows to Ireland on the Moffat pipeline — slips to 48.7bn m³ in October 2020-March 2021 from the weather-adjusted 48.9bn m³ a year earlier according to National Grid's outlook. Weather-adjusted calculations exclude the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.
