The Right Trade to Make If You Are Targeting $100 Oil, by Kathy Lien 1 reply
DislikedThe Vice President of Lukoil says Russian production has PEAKED. If true, this is a very serious statement and could have an enormous impact on oil prices and the world economy.

DislikedI have to ask though, how much of the world's potential reserves do we honestly know about? I doubt that Russia honestly knows the whereabouts of absolutely all of their potential oil reserves. Beyond that, even if it's peaked, how long are they going to hold the peak? Too many variables left unturned.Ignored

Right, and in who's interest is it to say Russian oil has "peaked". Come on folks, step right up, going out of business sale. Down to the last drop.Ignored

DislikedIMHO the best way to save the environment is to come up with stuff that saves money parallel to it, but I'm afraid this is quite a rare occassion...Ignored
DislikedWith the cost of energy rising at this pace, and the amount of economic destruction our environmental problems are causing, environment saving and money saving are slowly becoming synonymous. Too bad it took so long. That is the key weakness of free market capitalism IMO - it's a no limits system superimposed on a limited world.
BTW, I have those bulbs installed all over my house as well, I spend about $3/week at the petrol station and I very rarely use air conditioning, so I'm a pretty good boy too. If everyone could be like you and me, we wouldn't have an energy crisis on our hands, we wouldn't have global warming, and the Saudis wouldn't be nearly as rich .Ignored

DislikedEven if you drive one of the "Smart" cars - you need to get out of the house a lot more.
I think I used $3 in electricty in the last hour on my A/C bill. Try living in South Florida without AC. Oh and do you recall how many hundreds or maybe it was over 1000 who died in mainly France but elsewhere in Europe in the heat wave of I think ? 2006 because of the scarity of AC. Yeah I know, from global warming. Us bad Americans again. We are the cause because we use the most. So that excuses everyone else.
Here is a little info I found on Wikipedia:
"In 2004 the total greenhouse gas emissions from the People's Republic of China were about 54% of the USA emissions. However, China is now building on average one coal-fired power plant every week, and plans to continue doing so for years. Various predictions see China overtaking the US in total greenhouse emissions between late 2007 and 2010, and according to many other estimates, this already occurred in 2006".
This is a worldwide issue and needs a worldwide response. The US and Europe will lead with the technology but we can't stop our economies to "save" energy.Ignored
