Options expire this week for Oil. I reckon that oil price was brought back up close $38 to meet certain $37-38 calls. Maybe an up day today and then next week when new contract opens for oil we may resume back down again. If we go up then it may be a good short opportunity but at the same time if oil opens up next week then the trend may have changed from dropping to try and get support above $38 for oil. Next week will tell. With it being winter and Saudi along with Iran pumping more oil out and America as well I see oil dropping again next month.

Hey guys, I'm a new member here. I read a lot on forexfactory for a few months, but decided to join now . Here is my take on crude oil. On the month chart you can clearly see that prices hit the huge support from january 2009. If I look at the 4H chart I can see a breakout gap above the 50 day EMA. I'm long for crude oil, only problem is that the 4H chart might me to small to signal a buy oppertunity. What do you guys think?

How to make money in the oil market....

"The cost of hiring the giant oil tankers used to ferry crude around the globe has surged to its highest level in at least six years as a growing global glut of oil fuels rising demand for the specialist vessels. Day rates for a very large crude carrier (VLCC), which can carry 2 million barrels of crude — or 25 per cent more than the UK’s average daily consumption — have soared to $67,765 this month, according to Maritime Strategies, a London consultancy. – The Times"

German news outlets reporting of some stock market problems in China. Trading for the day has apparently been suspended there.

In the past oil prices go down when china economy shows signs of slowing down.

UAE has not broken Diplomatic relations with Iran. They have reduced relations and we have yet to see what they mean by reduced. UAE and Iran have huge trade ties while Saudi Arabia and Iran do not. UAE transfers a lot of goods to Iran due to sanctions on Iran. UAE would suffer huge losses if they severed ties with Iran. For the sake of Saudi Arabia though I am sure that they would reduce their relations but not sure what reductions would apply.
One thing that is for sure is when you see a pop in oil is when a short opportunity opens for shorting oil. As of now we are only headed in 1 direction and that is down.
